According to research results from Angus Reid Group's study, The Face of the Web, ''there will be more than 150 million new Internet users globally by the end of the year and 54 percent of those will be women. Currently, 59 percent of the global Internet population is male.''

Angus Reid project director Brian Cruikshank says content providers should concentrate on security and family-focused content if they want to attract the new users to their sites.

This supposition that family-focused content is the wave of the future, seems to jive with research conducted by Wirthlin Worldwide which asked women to rank their priorities. The results were the following:

  1. Having a successful marriage
  2. Raising a family
  3. Developing personal relationships
  4. Growing Spiritually
From these studies we learn that we have an ever-growing base of women flocking to the Internet, seeking information on marriage, family, personal relationships and spirituality.

Networks of sites over the last couple years have risen to address this ever-growing base of women on the Web. Networks like Women's Forum, iVillage, TotalWoman, ShesGotNetwork and Oxygen are vying for top positions in women's bookmarks. These networks have addressed three of the four priorities of women: marriage, family, and personal relationships. Yet sorely lacking and obviously over-looked is the area of spiritual growth as it pertains to building a personal relationship with God.

A Gallop survey called the ''24 Hour Spiritual Practice Survey'' found the following information about women:

  • 91 Percent Believe in God
  • 82 Percent Experience a need for spiritual growth
  • 80 Percent Have a personal relationship with God
  • 75 Percent Pray daily
Yet, Internet sites avoid God, religion and spirituality because it can be controversial. What if it hurts our business? What if we lose site visitors? What if we offend someone? What if we can't address every form of worship? And maybe they have a point. But who will serve the needs of the 91 percent of women who believe in God? Who will fill the needs of 82 percent who seek spiritual growth? SheLovesGod.com has stepped up to the plate and entered where only angels dare tread. SheLovesGod addresses a topic that the majority find too controversial -- building a relationship with God from a Christian perspective.

Sure it's daring, sure it can be politically incorrect, but the need is there. Women today scamper to fill so many roles in their busy lives that faith is often lost in the shuffle. It's the spiritual aspect of each woman that SheLovesGod seeks to nourish. SheLovesGod is a support community for Christian women of all denominations to come and share stories and poems, interact with each other, and support one another. SheLovesGod has been going strong since February 2000 and has been extremely well-received by women of all denominations over the years:

  • Regina Baker of www.christian-ads.net says, ''SheLovesGod is TOTAL inspiration for me. I've always wanted to write stories about how God has blessed my business, SheLovesGod offers a place for me to do exactly that!''
  • Patti Shoney says ''It gives me the opportunity to share thoughts and feelings with other women and to learn from others. Mostly it gives me the pleasure of making friends -- with God as our common factor.''
  • Crystal Dupay explains, ''When I am at my computer, I'm working. I don't have a lot of time to spend on the Web. That's what makes ''The Way Home'' and the SheLovesGod study courses such a blessing for me. Each week I receive inspirational e-mails and assignments that help me along in my spiritual journey. It's such a nice fit for my busy life-style.''
  • ''I've really enjoyed visiting SheLovesGod. It's nice to see someone offer a site that allows women to deepen their spirituality and devotion to God, no matter what religion they are, and to support others as they do the same,'' says Mia Cronan, mother of three, and creator of www.MainstreetMom.com
