WHEN GOD VISIT YOU

WHEN GOD VISIT YOU Today, many people are living at the crossroads of their lives without any hope. Many biblical characters faced the same situation and in the midst of their crisis, God visited them. What happened to these characters can also happen to us, “then she rose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people in giving them bread.”-Ruth 1: 6 This was the story of Naomi and Ruth; the land of Israel was going through hardship. Naomi and her family left their homeland for the country of the Moabites, there her husband and two sons died. Then God remembered his people and visited them in their need. The scripture quoted above showed that God never forgets his own, prophet Isaiah revealed the caring nature of God in this words “but Zion said, the lord hath forsaken me, and my lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her suckling child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.”-Isa.49: -14-16. The lord himself has assured us that, He will never forget us; in fact our names are inscribed on the palms of His hands, to remind us how caring He is toward us. The intention of this message is to strengthen us in our journey toward the mark of the heavenly goal. In this article, I will focus on these three points: 1. God’s promise of divine visitation 2. The people of divine visitation 3. Profit of divine visitation

GOD’S PROMISE OF DIVINE VISITATION The children of Israel are the most rebellion people in the history of man’s existence on earth. They saw the miraculous power of God that delivered them from bondage in Egypt. They witnessed His love and tender kindness toward them in the wilderness, yet they remain rebellious. God’s dealings with Israel portrays His mercies, longsuffering and love toward all those He called His own. His faithfulness preserved them till date. Even though they sometimes stray away form Him; He still remembers His covenant with their fore fathers. In the climax of their rebellion, God reveals His mindset toward them, “for thus saith the lord, that after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you… thought s of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”-Jer. 29: 10,11 Biblical scholars told us that the seventy years represent a period of time in God’s calendar. Daniel was among those taken into captivity in Babylon, one day he prayed and asked God the meaning of the seventy years prophesied by Jeremiah. He was given this answer, “seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring everlasting righteousness…”-Dan. 9: 24 [read the whole chapter for more understanding]. Out of the seventy weeks [understood to be seventy years], sixty-nine weeks or years, which equals 483 years, will represent the whole period from the time the decree is given for the reconstruction of the holy land and the coming of the Messiah The 69 years or 483 years from the declaration of Israel’s restoration to the coming of the Messiah and his death [when he was cut off, not for himself, but for our sins], were actually fulfilled. God visited his people by using Cyrus to declare their freedom and the restoration of their holy city, the messiah came and was killed by evil men, but he resurrected, and that is the good news. Even before the coming of the Messiah, after their restoration Zephaniah prophesied that, “…for the Lord their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.”-Zeph.2: 7 When God’s glory shall visit us, all our captivity shall turn away, and He will grant us a great favour. It is the will of Satan to see us decay and perish in our sins, but as Job foresaw about 4000 years ago, “thou granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit”-Job 10:12. No matter how hopeless our situation is, God had promised to visit us, and when He does, our spirits will be preserved. On the appointed time, God will visit you, keep on trusting Him, His promises are sure. THE PEOPLE OF DIVINE VISITATION All the people who ever had a contact with God never remain the same. “And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.”-Gen.21: 1,2 Just as God had contact with Sarah, and she never remain the same, you too can experience the same. The woman with the issue of blood [mark5: 25-34]; the ten lepers [luke17: 12]; the bridegroom [John2: 1-11], and all other people in the Bible who had contact with Jesus Christ never remain the same. They experience a divine visitation that changed their lives forever. When God visit you, all your problems will change for good. You will never remain the same because you have come in contact with the divine authority of God. The Lord visited the children of Israel after 430 years of slavery, He was aware of what they were going through [Ex.3: 7]. He knows our sorrows, in His appointed time, He will visit us. And when that happens, our sorrows will be over. “And his father zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people”-Luke 1:67,68the Lord will always redeem His people any time He visits them, no matter the situation. Since the people of divine visitation are the people of God, He cannot carry their blessings and give them to others who never seek His face. PROFIT OF DIVINE VISITATION When God visited the Israelites in their bondage, He gave them victory, and a good land, large enough to carry all of them. The land flowing with milk and honey [Ex.3: 7,8]. The same thing can happen to any person, whom God visited. All our mouths will be filled with laughter; our lives will be full of testimonies of great achievement, when God visit us. He will touch every aspect of our lives, physically, spiritually and financially. Most importantly, those living around us will testify when God visit us [Psalm126: 1,2; Luke 7: 14-16], and all our dead ones [those spiritually dead] will be brought back to life. All our troubled marriages and relationship will be brought back to life, because God had visited us. Our lives will be affected in all areas, even agriculturally [see Psalm 65: 9-13]. Above all, we will have life, and have it more abundantly, because God had visited us. So whatever situation you find yourself today, just wait upon the Lord, He will surely visit you, for He had promised.
